House Paddock Dam Filling

The dam at the Keri-Keri house paddock which supplies water to the home area and nearby stock was cleaned & re-filled. As this dam is in constant use, the opportunity to empty & refill it doesn’t present itself very often.

A number of months earlier we allowed it to dry out completely and the stock and house operated off a temporary smaller dam. Alan Robinson, from Robinson Excavations, was here for over two weeks scraping and lifting silt from inside the empty cavern. It is estimated it has been over 60 years since this dam had been cleaned out.

This dams’ capacity has now more than doubled. Photos below of cleaning, filling and when filling was complete.
